Growing up in suburban Detroit, Diane was inspired by the Motown sound. Her musical talents also garnered a Grammy nomination next to Gladys Knight. Besides Motown, they play everything from the Fabulous 50s and 60s Beach Music, to the Disco 70s, the Soul and Rock of the 80s and 90s, to Today’s Top 40. After countless texts, emails, spreadsheets, that’s-what-she-said’s, and heated discussions, the name Gump Fiction was chosen, along with a clear statement of the band’s direction: recreate the nostalgia of the days of tamagotchi pets, TRL, slap bracelets, cloned sheep, flannel, and the soup nazi through kickass-spot-on 90’s covers.
